Ben Berryhill
Ben is the Chef/Owner of The Red Drum, an upscale,
chic restaurant and bar opened May of 2005 in Mt. Pleasant,
South Carolina. An alumni of The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, Ben began working with Chef Robert Del Grande in 1992 at the acclaimed Cafe Annie in Houston, Texas. With Ben at the helm as Executive Chef , Cafe Annie garnered many top awards including Zagat’s “Top Restaurant in Houston”, Inside Houston’s “Best Chefs 2000”, Gourmet Magazine’s “Best of City” and has been featured in Food & Wine Magazine, Fine Cooking Magazine and other national and regional publications. Ben is a celebrated chef for The Wisconsin Cheese Board and in May 2003 Ben was selected to represent Cafe Annie at the James Beard awards in New York. Ben has appeared weekly on Fox network on “In the Kitchen with Robert Del Grande” where the two chefs shared their knowledge and unique culinary experience with viewers.
Ben and his wife Marianna bring the flavors of the Southwest
to the South Atlantic Coast in a fun casual atmosphere.
Ben lives on Sullivan’s Island with his wife Marianna, son Raymond, and Great Dane Phoebe.
